When is a tooth a tooth?

So Zach finally has some teeth coming in -- two on the top and one on the bottom. The ones on top are definitely further along, but I didn't notice them at first because everything I've read says that the bottom ones come in first. Of course Zach couldn't do things the normal way! I keep checking, and it looks like they might have broken through the skin, but I can't really tell. Zach won't let me pull back his lips to see, so the only way to tell is to make him laugh and look at them from underneath. I've been swinging him upside down because it accomplishes both steps that are the necessary predicates for teeth-viewing. Let me tell you, swinging around a 24 lb. baby is hard work!

So Zach may or may not have his first teeth, and I have no idea what date to officially desginate as the day he first got a tooth. Kinda like I have no idea what date to officially designate as the day he learned to crawl, since he did the wiggle worm crawl for so long.

Happy Belated Mother's Day

And sorry for the massive picture upload -- we were computerless for a while when Jason's computer decided to develop some kind of bug.

We had lunch with Grandma, Auntie Alli, Uncle Alan, and Cousin Alex in Richmond. Good times all around! Zach got me a new pink Ipod and a great plate and cup that he decorated.

Happy Birthday Babies!

We held a group birthday party the other weekend for all the babies who were party of our hospital Mom and Baby group. It was such fun, with all the babies romping around.


The bar is open... the Puffs bar, that is. A sure way to get babies to stay in place for a picture is to give them food!

Play Date With Victoria

We ventured out to play with Victoria and her mom Adriana the other weekend at At Play Cafe.

The kids had a great time playing together. We're very excited to meet Victoria's little brother who will be here in the fall!

And of course I don't have a picture of it, but Zach waved at Adriana, which was the first time he actually waved at a person.

Uncle Joey bought Zach a dump truck for Christmas. He loves to pull up on it and pull things out of the truck bed.
